Hi Guys,

Noticed last week after heavy northeast blizzard that my windshield wipers no long sit recessed under the hood opening when in the off position. Instead they sit a couple of inches above it and are fully visible when not in use. Anyone else run into this on their 2005 or newer RL?

 

The RL has two wiper blade setting winter/summer manually. you pull them up for winter and down under the cowl for summer. pull them up together or push them down.car off please. your blade are in winter mode if you live in snow country you should leave them for defroster to kept them ice free.

 

Tell me more about these two setting. How do you set them to winter or summer mode?

It's pretty easy, you just grab the arm assembly and push/pull it parallel to the plane of the windshield surface to move up into the winter position or back down into summer/recessed. IIRC when enough snow/ice builds up to impair the normal motion of the wiper arms they will stay in the raised winter position when "parked".
