windshield wiper problem

I used my wipers today and they refuse to return to the rest position. They just stay about 3" rest position. Any quick fixes? thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Are you describing the "winter positon"? See your manaul for how to move between the 2 positions (basically hidden and up where the won't get frozen below the hoodline).

Grab both wipers and gently pull up to get them into the winter position (you'll feel a light detent). When in the winter position, gently push them down to the normal position. If you lost your manual, it's online HERE.

Also note that in snow, the car seems to sense the pressure of the snow and moves the wipers into winter position while parked and off. I had this happen once in a heavy wet snow. What a thoughtful car!

On page 135 of the 2006 manual it says:

A heavy build-up of snow or ice on
the wiper arms will cause them to
automatically park in the winter
position.
