I was for the new 08 RL but i got surprised today when they release it, without anything different. Whats the deal?

 

Cost, will not get much on return to modify a very low selling model. Just wait it out for the 09 model. Honda is pretty conservative, competing against some big boys. But I agree they could have done even minor things to stir some renewed interest.

Since our RL is just being introduced into some global markets this year (either as RL or LEGEND) that means they have a diverse array of packaging already to meet the need of these various markets.

Left hand, right hand drive, LEGENDS, RL, with cooled seats, with heated seats, keyless models, models with keys, night vision equipped, different headlight assemblies, various shifters, navi, non navi...the list goes on and on.

That is a lot of diversity for 'one' car. Introducing more variables while dropping an assembly shift does not make sense or profit. Why offer more diversity for 6000 US units when 6000 more can be sold in other markets without introducing new features?

I agree, what problems.

After owning my RL for 6 months I just went back and looked at BMW, Lexus and our RL's kill these cars in MANY ways.
AS we have said before, this car is bought by the educated car buyer, for example, check out the gauges on ANY BMW, total joke. I could go on for pages.

 

Maybe the marketing problem.

 

You are right Bob, marketing for sure, maybe they are not interested in selling that many RL's.

 

There are some minor quality issues with the RL but I guess they figured to stay with it the way it is.

 

Show me a car with no quality issues.
