What sort of software do RLs run?

Does anyone know what the RL computer is, i.e., what architecture? Is it completely proprietary or PC component based? I'd love to know if anyone's been able to upgrade their software with some homebrew additions.

Once upon a time, I read that the navigation systems use the old Sega Saturn platform, hardware wise. Not sure how accurate that is.

The exact quote was:

BEGIN QUOTE HERE:
"H-4 processor running Microsoft Windows CE as the OS. Anyone that's hacked a Sega Dreamcast will be very familiar with this setup as they are nearly the same.

The navigation program is written in Visual C++.

If the code for the trip computer is in there we'll find a way to activate it with or without Honda's help!

A couple of examples of what others have replaced the standard opening screen with:

Obviously, I meant Dreamcast, not Saturn. I remember seeing a post from someone at Acura saying they bought a HUGE number of these boards from a Sega supplier, but of course google is failing to help me locate this.

The bottom line: the platforms are extremely similar. So now all we need is someone to reqrite the code so we can play DVD movies on our nav screens without a hardware hack!
