We have another exhaust option !
Tanabe Japan just released a new cat-back in Japan for the RL. They don't list too many specs on the Japanese site, but it is JASMA certified and so it's also quiet. Pricing is very reasonable on it, but shipping might be a bit high since we'd have to import it from Japan. So the 5zigen is still the best choice for us imho, but it's nice to have another choice
. These pictures are from my friend on his Legend - Mitchamix. As you can see they like our Acura RL badges =).

Also here's a sound clip my friend made, sounds great -

Sounds "fartier" than the 5zigen when at idle. With mild acceleration, though, it sounds sweet.
I think it's funny how just as some of us Americans want our cars to look JDM, some Japanese owners want theirs to look USDM.

Fartier indeed, and too "droney" and bass for my tastes. I've gotten to the point where, although I still love power, I want it whisper quiet (like the U.S.S. Enterprise entering warp drive). Quiet power = effortless power.
In fact, that's something I cherish about my RL, and I'm reminded of it everytime I get in the TL (it drones, too).
We've reached the point where engines are producing really awesome power in stock form, and with very little noise, so to me aftermarket exhausts are mainly ear candy for those who like to sound more powerful than they are.

I'm totally happy that in stock form it's so quiet, yet still can move.
I'm just can't wait for pure electrics to arrive. But, what will we do then for sound?
Oh yeah, install one of these: http://www.vroombox.com/

Yeah all of my Legend friends in Japan love the RL badges. A few even have our front grill too. In general they like to mod there cars alot more than us and what's amazing is most of them are older gentlemen

I personally like those exhaust better than the 5zigen ones. The shape of the tips fills the openings on the bumper better, in my opinion. The sound might be a little to bass to me. Only if Comptech made exhaust for the RL, I would be the first to get those. I liked how my old TL sounded with Comptech axle-back. PM me the pricing and shipping, Touge!

Hi, find movies in following URL. Yesterday we had an off-line meeting for LEGEND in Japan.
You can enjoy the sounds of muffer (The first movie) that Touge introduced.

Welcome to Acurazine!
We always welcome participation from our Japanese colleagues and would love to see more. I viewed all the movies. In some of them, the drivers appeared to be making good use of SH-AWD. Great job!
