Hey, it has been raining for 2 days and temperature was around mid to low 50s. Yesterday I started my car and looked at tire pressure readings and it had all expect right rear where "dashes would be shown". I drove to my destination for 15/20 minutes, then turned off the engine, then back on and PSI for that wheel appeared showing the correct PSI. Later that day, similar things happened and also today. It shows that TPMS is working normally. Had no such issue in the summer. Oh and that tire does lose around 3 PSI every 2 to 3 weeks, so I have to add air.
Thanks. I have read the manual yesterday and thought that low battery should show some kind of low pressure or another message. I guess it doesn't always happen. I thought it is the moisture or the weather but battery seems to be a good idea.

I had the same exact issue - while most recommend replacing all of the sensors, I replaced only one of them and so far almost several months all is good with other sensor and new one I got works without issues.

That particular tire is leaking a bit of air and every 3 weeks I add few PSI to it. I though if anyway I would ask tire shop to check why the tire is leaking, they can install the new sensor while at it.
Did you have to do any type of programming for the new sensor to work or it should work out of the box? I am planning on getting Acura/Honda OEM sensor

In my experience (2 TLs and an RDX) the OEM sensor(s) should synch right up after a few miles of driving.

That is good. Hope these sensors won't go out one by one...as my tires still have a good amount of tread left before needing replacement. It isn't convenient to have tires removed unnecessary.
TPMS have about a 10 year lifespan before their batteries die as you've experienced. Maybe just replace them all at once
I thought about this, but since one tire with low battery sensor is leaking air anyway, it is good and convenient to repair and replace the sensor. I wanted to wait couple of years and replace tires with sensors
I have four sets - 2 each for my current 08 TL-S (Winter and Summer) and my wife's 16 RDX (All season and Winter). When I got the 2nd set of tires and rims for each they synched up on their own and also do when they are seasonally swapped. The sensors on my Summer rims are 16 years old but then again don't get used year round.

It seems very convenient without owner needing to reprogram anything. Although OEM parts are a bit more expensive, they should perform good. I found online a single TPMS sensor assembly for ~$39. I believe this kit includes the sensor, valve stem, cap and so on. At times I am trying to avoid taking my car to the dealer as I don't trust them to do a good job as I would with care.
Unrelated story: Couple of weeks ago, low beam bulb fell into the housing unfortunately while I was trying to replace it and I couldn't take it out without removing the bumper and other components. I don't have a garage, so I didn't want to bother with that and took my car to the dealer. After few hours they were done but for some reason they messed it up. The headlight wasn't aligned to the fender, clips from radiator cover plastic were misplaced, wrong clips of 2 types were combined together and were obviously loose, gap in the bumper. I told showed them the issue but techs needed Reginal Manager's approval to do it. I waited 2 days and talk to the guy. He approved and they took my car in over the weekend. On Monday, received a call that my car was done. To my surprise, techs messed it up even more than the first time! They loosened the fender to lessen the gap between the headlight and pushed it towards the hood so much and it was almost rubbing. Put some kind of foam tape to eliminate the rubbing noise. Even the bolts were not in the correct spots. Manager wanted to redo it, but I stopped him. I made them renew all the clips that they misplaced or broke. Next day, I re-did the job with one of my friends, took 2.5 hours but got it done!
A good or bad mechanic can make all the difference in the world. Each can be found at Dealer's or Independent shops, they all have them and sometimes it is luck of the draw. I had a good Honda mechanic (worked at a Honda dealership) and he did all sorts of work for me and saved me tons of $$ when I lived in MA. This also included mounting new snow tires at the dealership!!! Haven't needed/found someone similar here yet in VA.

Agree. The issue is finding one. At the dealer service advisors don't really let you talk to the tech separately unless you saw a tech outside, smoking or sitting at the lunch break or there is a specific issue that tech need to hear/see. It is possible that issues with transmission or engine mounts, suspension component can be properly addressed by the dealer techs or an independent shop and quality work could be performed. At least now, anything visual on the car, I will try to do myself I have very limited experience of working on the cars but simple stuff are easy enough for me to do.
I get it and completely understand. The guy I used - believe it or not - advertised on Craig's List as he was looking to do some work on the side for extra $$$. I used him for about 5-6 years. Wow! Right, having a good mechanic pays off for everyone. Knowing you can take your car to a mechanic that won't mess up your car because of careless act is probably priceless these days Thanks!

No programming was needed... I got it off of eBay but it was advertised as genuine OEM TPMS sensor for RL

Hey, today I drove to church in the evening after 6 o'clock and temperature outside was 50 to 54, don't recall exactly. While driving my usual rear right PSI wasn't working but other wheels did show pressure. My car was parked there for about an hour and when I started my car, the temp outside was about 46 degrees. I drove for 7-10 minutes and got TPMS System Error on the multifunction display and on the main screen there was a message: Tire Pressure Monitor: 36. Today during the day all 4 tire pressure PSI was shown as it was sunny and warm. Since the rear right sensor has weak/bad battery, could it be the issue for TPMS error?
Hi all! Quick question. Is there a special socket used for tightening valve nut on RL? I have simple tool set kit, but don't seem to have the one that will easily fit on the nut, as some of the wheel surrounds it. I have seen some screw drivers that had some attachment bits which would allow wrench sockets to be fitted(instead of screw driver bits)
