TPMS malfunction

Has anyone had this problem?

my TPMS, back tire reads that the PSI is falling and low. I do a visual inspection and the tire looks fine. However, just in case, i fill it up with some air and the TPMS system goes up, but a few hours later, it reads i'm running low. The tire looks fine. the psi reads 18-20.

Anyone think this could be a minor problem that can be fixed without going to the dealer? any assistance would be great. thanks.

That's not a TPMS problem... That's a slow leak.
You can't visually inpspect pressure, and you won't see the tire show how low it is until about 5lbs or so...

Yeah.... 18-20 PSI not good

Avg range of psi in most cars is 30 - 34 I think.

Dude, you seriously need to get that tire checked out by a tire guy. Timmah is right, pressure should be more like 30-35 in all four tires. I sure wouldn't try to go far until you get it checked.

Agree ^^.
Tire pressure should be checked when the tire is COLD; don't check when the tires have been driven for more than a couple of miles (driving heats up the tires). A visual tire check can't accurately determine inflation pressure.
Also use a tire gauge to make sure the TPMS is reading properly.

Finally, recommended PSI is 32 on the rears for most 17" wheel TLs (fronts between 32 and 35 depending on year and transmission type) per the door sticker; don't go below that pressure.
