What is the fastest speed someone has been in your Acura Rl?

110 and it didn't feel like 110. It was very smooth and quiet, felt more like 90 mph.

Exactly. Same here. I had my '05 RL as high as 110 and was cruising around 100-105 along I-10 in remote west texas. The road there is *very* straight with no traffic, and few (if any) cops. At those speeds it feels like you are moving 80-90, and the road is smooth as silk- and quiet. There is also NO vibration or road noise.

I would just be concerned about trying to push it over 110 unless you have tires rated for such. I'm not sure the stock Michelin's would be safe, or not.

wow, 155 mph when the speedometer max is 160. isn't the RL's speed electronically limited?

about 135MPH. There is a soft limiter that limits your speed. However, the way it was pulling it should go much further than the 135.

That's a good trick, when the car's system limits your top speed to 137 MPH. Maybe re-badging the car makes it go faster?

I'm sure rebadging it made it go faster, probably because the orginial version is the LEGEND.
Probably you should read my post carefully, i had rebadged my vehicle in March 2006, the incident was in December 2004. A little common sense would help.

I did read it carefully -- you claimed to go 155 in a car that is only good for 137.

OK boys, play nice. The car is electronically governed at 137 mph. Did Qatar find a way to get around the system?

No matter to me. The fastest I've taken my RL is 90 mph, and then only for about 15 seconds. With a new baby, I can't do this anymore on long road trips. Also the gas mileage at that speed is suckola.

Mod, i think jftjr never got over the fact that the RL is a down graded version of the Legend and its been buggin him since i've replaced my Acura emblems with Honda.
Jftjr, like i said before, my money, my car.
I won't start another stupid argument about this, someone asked about the fastest i've been and i answered and you believing what i wrote is the last thing i'll worry about.

... but I'm curious as well. If the RL (Legend) is electronically limited to 137, how did you manage 155? Did you reflash the ECU?

I honestly don't know. I had purchased the car two months prior.
But if i'm not mistaken, someone from VTEC.net was able to do 141 with the first Rl tester

about 175-180 mph. Hey, that's about as legit as Qatar's 155 claim.
