Major engine proplem
Today is a very sad day for me. I started my car up drive out of my work parking lot. I took a right turn and drove less than half a block. Suddenly there is loud rattling and banging coming form the front end of my 2005 TL. I pulled over and turned my engine off. As I looked under the hood I saw a fluid coming out of the right side. I touched it and it was motor oil. There is a trail of oil where the noise occurred and I remember my engine light up on the dash.
I think that just about all of the oil in the engine is gone. I am a faired that there is a major problem. When road side came the guy had to turn on the engine to turn the wheel. He looked at me and shook his head. The told me that the engine is a goner.
I had no problems at all with this car. I love everything about it. It has 25073 miles and it has been taken care of very well. Has anyone else out there has this problem?
I wonder what they are going to do to fix this problem. I don’t know if I want to keep this car anymore.
It was my first new car; it was the best car that I ever owned. It is so sad.

Welcome to the RL board. Sorry your first post is a problem post. This is the first I've heard of an engine problem with any of the J3-series engines (TL and RL), that has been the most "bulletproof" part of these cars.
Just out of curiousity, had you car been recently serviced (e.g. oil cap left off, someone forgot to put the oil plug back in, etc.)?
The Navy Doc has a point, it should be covered under warranty and the likelihood of something like this occurring again is minimal.
And you have a TL. You probably need to post in "Problems" in TL. Link is HERE.
