snapping popping during gear change

this happened second time today since i owned the car

first time happened about 2 months ago

now today

i belive it is only when i throttle down during transmission shift

i step on gas to pass a car . during shift up i let go the gas slightly because theres a car in front and at that moment i can hear and feel through the floor like something snapped or popped off
looked around last time didnt see anything

when it shifts with foot on gas theres no problem
only when i very slightly release the gas pedal it does the loud popping. snapping sound

Can you replicate it by using "manual" shifting?

Based on this cars' history with motor mounts and the fact that it's happening after shifts, I'm leaning towards motor mounts. But that's without knowing anything other than what's here...

Usually the front one fails and causes the side one to fail right after

weird it just happened today as i was turning left and uphill
i keep looking in there but dont see anything suspicious

front mount looks good no liquid leaking or anything
can it be something inside tranamission or transfer case?

I had a weird VERY, VERY minute click on slowdown right after I would hit a speedbump, and it would only occur after I hit one speedbump. I also had a weird, as I called it, a two step jolt between shifts, if that makes sense? This should help in engine mount diagnosis:

mine is not caused by speed bump
only at full throttle shift
or when i juat very slightly back throttle as the car shifts up
i already replaced all the blown out balljoints so now it doesnt clunk on speedbumps

i also got a rattle in vtec a very annoying rattle which at first sounded like really lose valve clearances
mine is a loud pop or snap not clunk

happened again yesterday as i was merging on the freeway
again inbetween shifts

The fact that it's happening between gear shifts under load is really making me think mounts, especially given Hondas are notorious for sh***y mounts...

Honestly, mine weren't leaking hydraulic fluid either... Definitely check out the mounts. How does your trans fluid look? What's the service history on the trans?

take the condom off

unbolt the covers and it will reveal the cracked broken mount
