screeching brake noise

I just got new Brembo brake pads this past Saturday, because I couldn't take the screeching sound any longer. However, they're still screeching! Anyone have any explanations why they are?!

Were the rotors replaced or turned? Were the springs replaced?

I had a mechanic who wouldn't use anything other than OEM brake pads saying he couldn't guarantee they wouldn't make noise otherwise. There is a TSB however, on brake noise in certain RLs (TSB 05-021). Depending on your VIN, you car may qualify for free brake upgrades. It's only for the front but my dealer replaced all four. They may however, not be happy that you put Brembo pads on.

Yup, there is a TSB out for this problem. I had my front pads, rotors and some sort of caliper spring (the culprit) replaced at 24,000miles under warranty.

I went there last Saturday and got new brake pads for $350, thinking they would solve the problem. I mentioned the squealing noise. I went back today, and they told me about the service bulletin, which includes replacement of the brake pads under warranty. Do you think I could get a refund?

If they knew of the TSB (which apparently they did) and your car is withing the covered VIN range, shame on them for not performing it and charging you for the repair (which didn't work). They should do the TSB (they can probably reuse the pads they just put on) and give you a full refund and an apology.
