S2000 meets deer RL back to summer duty
Last week I hit a deer on my way to work in my s2000. Though the car is still drivable, I decided to store it till its ready for is surgery (new headlight, new fender, bumper and hood fixes), so, I pulled the RL from its estivation. It took me a day or so to get used to RL driving, particularly since the steering seemed way to light back to back compared to the S2K. The next day it all felt back to normal. Thinking about it the RL could use a little heavier steering effort like in the MDX.
BTW I just replaced the S2K RE 050 with some RE-11 the difference is HUGE. The RE 11 are exponentially better than the RE 050 in all respects, as a bonus they are also night and day in regards to tread noise thus the driving comfort is enhanced quite significantly since one of the main minuses of driving the S2K as a daily driver is its noise levels. Besides the engine, (good noise) the car is now essentially silent!
Even better, the RE11 has even higher performance levels than my previous all around favorite the Michelin PS2, though, of course, it has a firmer ride. Thoroughly recommended without reservatiions for owners who must have an ultimate performance summer tire.

Damn, dude. Sorry to hear about your S2K but more importantly, you are okay. At least you have a great second car to drive.
P.S. Kudos to you on the great use of the word 'estivation'.

Glad you are OK. Did the deer hobble away?
Sounds like the s2k will be OK to repair. Keep us posted. I cannot say I feel too sorry for you with an RL as the backup plan.
Now I understand Acura is building deer guards into all Acura models soon.

It should scare away any varmint on the road. The power plenum can slice right through any deer too stupid not to flee. Notice the fine lower blade of the plenum. Perfectly situated to slice a fine venison steak from your unfortunate dinner kill. And to keep the mess to a minimum, notice the lower bumper drain canal where blood and entrails are neatly swept away.
No longer will you have to return home with Bambi strapped to the hood. Acura: Advancing Road Kill.

I have a feeling this bald wannabe Michael Bolton was smoking a big fat doobie when the notorious “Power Plenum Grill” was invented!
