The purpose of the ECU reset is to remind the computer what WOT is. Few people engage WOT enough to keep the full range in the memory as the computer "learns" driving styles over time. In theory, it adapts to the range it is used to seeing and moves shift points accordingly. By reminding the computer what a WOT signal is, it resets the shift points and can allow for a more aggressive shift placement/throttle response.

sounds like it doesn't change the sound that much, but does provide a bit more throttle responsivenes... nice. given what you guys FEEL - do you feel it is worth the money?
Zelaya - do you have other videos of your exhaust? not just throttle blips, but actual drive bys or WOT runs?

Because of the "Thanks" received on my ECU explanation, I figure I will give some insight into safe ways to give a WOT signal. Giving a WOT signal with the car on and in "D" can result in bad consequences.
None of these techniques have been verified by Acura, but they do seem to work. Each one should work on it's own. Because we don't have confirmation, we are really just throwing the kitchen sink at it in hopes that the correct step is performed.
1) Turn the ignition to (II) without turning the car on. Floor the gas pedal to its full range for at least 30 seconds. Release the pedal and turn the ignition off.
2) Turn the ignition to (II) without turning it on. Turn it back off and floor the gas pedal. With the pedal floored, turn the ignition to (II) without turning on and hold for at least 30 seconds.
3) While entering a highway, or driving where it is safe to accelerate over a long distance, put the car in Manual Mode. Shift up to 5th gear as soon as the car will let you (~40 mph) and floor the gas pedal. The Manual Mode will keep the car from downshifting and you will accelerate slowly (this is the risk of doing this in "D"). Hold the pedal for as long as it is safe.
Once again, the idea is to apply a WOT while the ECU is powered on. It is assumed the a longer hold will result in a better over-write of the previous throttle response.

Has anyone tried this and actually notice a difference?

Yeah there is no confirmation... but if you used those instructions, you cannot mess it up.
That fully depletes any charge left in the car.
And I know where he got those instructions LoL

The TL forum was the first place I had heard of it. Different variations float around. That's why I posted all three.
Were you asking about the procedure in general or giving WOT in "D"?
