roof leak

Has anyone had an issue with a very inconsistent leak at the aline(roof) on the driver's side near the sunvisor? It only happens when it rains EXTREMELY heavy, but not all the time. I had a windshield guy look at it a few years ago, found no leakage. I had the sunroof drained a few times, but nothing was found. Seems like a defect or a body part issue.

have you popped off the a pillar to see if perhaps the sunroof drain is disconnected? I've seen reports of it . Have you had the car the since new or was it used? Perhaps the windshield was replaced in the past and they didn't install it properly

You may want to check out these links:

I personally had an issue on my RL where windshield was replaced according to the dealer something was not done right - the accuracy of that can be debated until the end of time, but we all know how dealers are... anyhow, bottom line is, there is a leak where it causes rust that is not visible in the beginning... take off windshield pillar and also plastic/rubber strip to dispose and inspect for any rust - that is likely where you will find the leak spot.

I fixed mine with temporary silicone adhesive but again, I have now 210k on my car - debating if I will fix up all rust spots or leave it as is and drive it until it dies
