Replacing Lug Stud

Howdy folks! A quick internets search on replacing a lug stud leads me to believe that it's a relatively painless process (though all the instructions I found were for Hondas and not Acuras). Additionally, the local tire shop quoted me $40 to replace the part. Anyone have experience and/or tips to share about completing this as a DIY job?

If you can. Get to it without having to remove the wheel bearing it should be 40 or so. If you have to remove the wheel bearing you'll need a new one and it runs about 200 for the part. Goodluck

I'd pay the place $40 to do it personally. At that price, it's not worth the hassle of doing it yourself IMO.

the TL's stud removal and replacement is a PAIN!
i'm positive it's the same way on the RL.

there is a shortcut where you cut a V into the stud to slip it out easier, but it's still a pain without the right tools.

for 40 bucks, it's a no brainer!

Pretty sure the local shop thinks they can get to it without pressing out the bearing.

Thanks for the replies fellas! At this point, I'm siding with letting the shop take care of it (it's supposed to be hot this weekend to boot, so that's another sign from the universe that I should do the work myself). I'm also guessing that they're planning to do the work without messing with the bearing. I'll keep you posted about whether or not the job is really what they say it is!
