I've gotten two reminder messages about checking tire pressure and the TPMS. These are the first messages since I first leased the car in June of 2006. Anyone else getting these?

I received the same two messages in the last couple of days. First one in a while.

Odd you say this, because I've gotten them ... but on my '07 MDX!

I wondered if maybe during the night when it was cold, the pressure actually sagged down enough to set off the TPMS alert, but by morning when the car was started it had warmed up enough that it didn't show low pressure.

I received two messages as well. I have them saved. One was for TPMS, I can't remember what the other one was for.

I chalked it up to a proactive message from Acura to check your tire pressure due to the upcoming winter.

Yup, got 'em both as well. I thought it was because I was recently playing around with my ownerlink settings and triggered something. I guess not.

Me, too, but my actual warning light alerted me of a low pressure reading (27 psi) a few weeks ago on our first cold snap of the season.

It's just the cold weather you guys. I just had my tires at 34psi last week, checked them today and they were 27psi due to the sudden drop in temp.

I got them too, but I don't recall getting them this time last year or the year before. Also, the "cold weather" got up to 78 the day I got the notice (here in SoCal), so it's definitely not related to the actual temperature reading at the time the message is sent.

Funny, its 29 here, and I never got any messages, although I pumped up to 35 and 33 about 10 days ago, and I was at a perfect 32 and 30 today. I do not think it is related to "winter" onset by calendar, but I do think it is related to cold weather. The TPMS is supposed to work on differences in pressure and tires can and frequently do lose pressure over time. So messages may be coincidental in warm weather areas.

I just assumed these messages were generated from acuralink as a reminder. I just received two messages relating to check tire pressure with he TPMS and how the TPMS works. My pressure while driving was 35 on a all 4 tires pretty much constant from before. Aren't these messages just like the ones that I received everyday for 30 days when I bought the car?

The messages I got/have are just "reminders". The pressure in all four tires was spot on. BTW, do you "save" or "delete" all your AcuraLink messages?

Deleted them all. These are the messages that appeared in the first 90 days.

I have not received any messages since then from AcuraLink. The only exception is an airbag message when I put a parcel on the front seat, and the sensor went off about the passenger in the front seat not being properly positioned so the passenger airbag is off.

Your explanation seems to explain all the messages people are getting/not getting.

Got the messages in my MDX the other day, and sure enough there they were today in the RL. TPMS and a bonus passenger airbag message.

Oh, and the tire pressures in both cars were fine.

Ditto. I just got those messages, too. There were no warnings about tire pressure on the MID, so I deleted 'em.

Greetings from chilly Chile!

Last month I was researching with Acura Tech why some AcuraLink messages were not being received by the RL. It seemed they 'discovered' a bottleneck in the message flow from AcuraLink servers to XM to the RL (and perhaps other models). I was expecting some feedback from Acura Tech but have been away chasing penguins down below (back in satellite communique today before the fjords).

I would hope theses unexpected messages are tests being run to restore end to end communication to the RL via AcuraLink? I am hoping to see the message envelope on my RL when I return home.

I wonder if anyone has received a call from Acura confirming the messages? Or maybe they just confirm via AZ!
