some dude in the 3G section is using them, its just snake oil. Your best bet if you need to change plugs is do this:
1. Seafoam your RL with the OLD plugs in
2. Change out your plugs with NGK one's, they work well, last long and are great.
3. change/clean out the engine air-filter since sparks and filter are usually at 30K intervals.

I read they slightly advance the timing which may not be a good thing.

i see ads for those spark plugs all the time. i'll admit the only thing stopping me is the price tag on them. how exactly does the timing get advanced by them???

so i've been reading around, and the plugs just seem to be a big gimmick. Apparently the tips are very brittle. This one guy on an EVO forum has pics of his plugs and damaged engine parts. Clearly i'm going to stay away for now.

I actually have a set in mine (compd) along with a set in one of my other cars. There is an improvement in throttle response and perhaps a small HP improvement but what I did notice is a 1.5 mpg increase in the RL. This goes along with what some others I know are getting on their cars. Some cars respond better vs others.

Replaced fairly new plugs and same driving style. ECU reset. Again, keep in mind that I did not pay a penny for the 14 plugs (8+6)

Early versions were prone to cracking. The new ones are suppose to be stronger, I have not had any issues. The tip is still the standard plug tip though, no iridium or platinum so keep that in mind. They do come with a 30 day guarantee, at least through Kragen Auto. Not sure of other places.

any spark plug replacement will yield a gain in MPG and power since the RL runs pretty rich and fouls up plugs easily...

I think you missed the part above where I stated they replaced new plugs. Less than 100 miles and less than 3000 miles on the Lexus. Plugs were not fouled in the least bit.

But again, I paid zero for them. Otherwise it would have cost me $350.00 for plugs with a standard life tip. I will report back once I add some real miles to them.

Hi. I am the CEO of Enerpulse and thought I would comment on our earlier versions. It is true we had some cracking problems that were compounded by the relatively inaccessibility in newer vehicles. Pulse plugs are quite a bit more complex than spark plugs. But, we haved solved the problem and I think you will find Pulstar as durable as spark plugs. By the way, our warranty everywhere is 4 years and 50,000 miles.

Cheers

Guys, if we are the cause of your engine failure, we will cover you. Just don't expect a brand new car out it.

Cheers

the cracking was of the ceramic up top I believe (not on the bottom where it could drop in the motor), no need to power up the whistles based off my comment above. Good to see a company rep commenting here.

How can we tell the difference from the earlier versions and the newest version?

If it cracks you have the early version. Sorry, had to. I am not sure as I have the new version, I am sure dParker will chime in.
