Mirror fuse location

I'm assuming the fuse for the side mirrors is in the drivers side fuse panel. But it's not marked anywhere... does anyone know which fuse is linked to the side mirrors?

My mirrors stoped working and I'm thinking it's the fuse.

Thanks,
Mike

I am sure you checked this, but is the L/R mirror selection switch out of the neutral position?

In addition, if you search, there were issues with the mirror control module in some early models. There was a ServiceNews and/or TSB on this.

Oh, here is the TSB. Different symptoms, so may not be it at all....

Update.....

Chas, I could not view that TSB information so I'm not sure what you were posting but I was at the dealer the other day and went back to the service department. They didn't know what fuse it was either, but they did come up with a TSB about the mirrors not going down when you put it in reverse. The recommended fix was to remove fuse 7 (panel on drivers side starting from the bottom front) for ten seconds. It's a ten amp fuse. Anyway, that fixed the problem.

I thought the TSB for the mirror involved a SW update, but that was way back in 2005.
Also, my mirrors will stop working if the car is hot from sitting in the sun. Usually above 90, then will work again after AC has kicked in.

... resurrecting this thread from a while back.

Both my mirrors stopped working in my '05 RL, so I'm thinking it's this same fuse issue. Well that's where I'll start at least.

Question: When I pull out the fuse for 10 seconds, is the ignition engaged at all to force the reset?

I did it with the key off.

It should not matter, but everything off would be ideal.

For future reference, there is a fuse map in the manual I believe. There us one in te service manual too.

Thanks guys. This did the trick. Popped out the fuse for 10 seconds, back in and the mirrors are working once again

So I thought it was a done deal, but it's morphed in to something a bit odd.

Right after I did this fuse trick I noticed the locks were now locking themselves again automatically when I get in the car. What's messed up now though is the keyless lock/unlock, specifically locking, that's not working. I know these cars can have issues with the door handles but neither the drivers or the passengers side is working to lock the car. I can't imagine they would both fail at the same time, or does it only take one for both to not work?

Also the key fob can't directly lock the doors either. I have to unlock them lock them to get it to work from the key fob, sometimes repeatedly. The dimples on the handles never work to lock it. Actually pressing the dimple does lock the other doors, just not the drivers door. The handle does also work to unlock all the doors.

Anyone heard of this?

Any ideas on how to resolve?

I've done the re-pairing of the keyfobs with no success.

thanks!

How old is your battery? The majority of electrical gremlins encountered in the RL on this forum are due to an old battery or loose connection. Check that before moving deeper into the debug.

Good point. The battery is a bit over four years old now, maybe closer to 5. Definitely need to replace that anyway with winter fast approaching. I'll follow-up again after I replace it.
