Looking at an 06 RL with 91k - AC Stator or Condenser Fan questions...
So, as the title says, I'm looking at an '06 RL with 91k. Looks like it has been taken care of, but when we drove it the other day, the AC didn't cool off good until we were moving (pulling out of the dealership), maybe 15-20 seconds after we started the car.I initially thought that maybe the condenser fan wasn't working, but after doing my research, it may also be the stator for the AC compressor. When the stator goes out, is it more of a "one-and-done" or will it work intermittently? How are the condenser fans on the 2nd Gen RLs? Are they dependable? Are the relays a common issue with the fans? I think we are going to buy the car today, and I am going to use the AC issue as a bargaining chip for sure. I just want to know what I'm looking at on costs to fix or where to start with the troubleshooting...Thanks in advance.BTW, I've owned a few Legends, just not a RL. At one point I even had a 94 GS 6speed Black on Black.

Mostly its the ac clutch or stator(field coil) but i would need to know more like if it works in th am when its cooler if it just recently stopped...alot of things the dealer probably wont disclose truthfully. But tge Better question...how much for the car and what area do you live.

That sounds pretty normal for a Honda A/C. I have never found a Honda A/C that blows cold from the get go and all cars do better when they are moving; the faster the better. The movement helps to flow air over the condenser and cool it faster. I also think the increased RPM helps the alternator run the compressor better.
Did it blow cold and move a lot of air while you were driving? Did it ever falter or blow hot afterward? How hot was it when you started the car? How long since the car had been driven (estimate of course)?

this happened to me the other day... I was wondering why it happened. I had the AC going but i was at complete stop, parked in my driveway. AC was at 60 when it started to blow warm air. I didn't know why... but i ignored it...
then later that day started i drove and it was cold again. Idk
my car is still underwarranty should i go to the dealer and have them fix the problem? or like oo7spy said its normal...

Going from blowing cold air to blowing hot/warm air within a short period of time is not normal. It is only normal to not expect a Honda to blow cold air upon start-up.
If you can reproduce the symptom, I would have it checked out.
