KB1 Ball Joint Replacement Question

So I've been searching on this forum and have had no luck. I'm wondering if anyone has changed the upper and lower ball joints on our cars. When searching I only found threads about TL's and other Acuras.

I was told, that on our cars the uppers only come with the control arms, can anyone confirm that? Also, any after market alternatives that may be better suitable for a lowered car? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, the ball joints are one with the control arms. The control arms are aluminum and the ball joints cannot be replaced because of this, from what I understand. I think pressing ball joints in and out of the control arm enlarges the hole and causes the new ball joint to not fit properly. I'm not a metallurgist so I'll let somebody with more knowledge of this matter explain better.

...and that eliminates the possibility of any aftermarket balljoint as well.

there is no aftermarket replacement on upper and lower ball joint.. I've had to replace my lower control and upper control arm..i got real lucky that i bought the whole front right suspension assembly (upper+lower arms, fork, front shock/strut/ and wheel hub for a steal.) it was used by the way but i needed it and its been fine since.. its gonna be close to 140 for upper control arm..if you have experience in fixing this it will save you some money

This is one of the few things that blows about the KB1. I'm dreading the day where I'll have to change those control arms considering how much they cost...

I'm going to pick up some used upper control arms from a junk yard, and see if I can figure out if or what after market upper ball joints would work. I know I cant replace the lowers, but I am going to give the uppers a shot.

If I am successful I will be accepting donations via paypal.
