intake bracket from Visionary Racing

My mechanic can't figure out where the bracket goes for the AEM intake from Visionary Racing. He suggested I buy another one from Home Depot or something. Anyone have any pictures?

at the Home Depot comment... but the one sent will fit.

It attaches to a mounting point on the sidewall of the car. The mechanic removed a bolt from that location to extract the oem air system.

Great, thanks for the info. A picture would still be nice though, to show the mechanic. Thanks again

You're not worried about it falling off or anything? Is it better for me to go back and get the bracket installed?

It's really up to you. I had it installed since I got the car last year. So far it's still intact "knock on wood". So depending on how anal are you. I didnt wanna bother adding an adapter so like I said depend on you.

Can anyone else just provide the details on where the bracket goes so I can just have the mechanic read the instructions on this thread? Thanks in advance!

Thanks man. I'm in class right now. I can't really tell what I'm looking at in the pictures, on my iPhone. Do you think the mechanic will be able to figure it out? Thanks again.

To make it more garage worthy, maybe you can take pics of the installation for DIY'ers...if it's not too late. There used to be a thread on it, but the pictures aren't there anymore. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ghlight=intake

And impressions after installation would be nice too

They still couldn't do it. They kept telling me that I had to find a piece that is more flexible. The one I got from Visionary Racing doesn't look like the one in your photo...

mine is a very flexable piece. Me and someone else found it in his trunk and decided to use it. I forgot where he said the bracket originated from

Yes, the bracket I have a photo of in my gallery and at least one thread is the one Visionary sent me and that I installed in my car.

Ok, so it is confirmed that the bracket from Visionary Racing fits... Yet my mechanic doesn't seem to believe it.

I understand why: I felt the same way at first. However, since I had incentive to figure it out, it being my damn car, I sat down and rotated the bracket until I saw the mounting point it would neatly attach to. Oh, then I slightly bent the bracket, since "neatly" was wrong: 1/16" gap if you don't bend to accomodate the need.

I used a hammer to bend it over the edge of a brick.

I know this is an old thread but can somebody post a picture of their AEM intake bracket and where it goes again? I didn't install a bracket on mine, and now it's pushing the fender lining toward my tire, which is causing it shred. Thanks in advance.

Here it is, from my gallery:

That is a Simpson Strap, for those of you familiar with exotic stores like Home Depot and Lowes.

Thank you both. Think you could do me a favor and show me where it attaches to? I see a couple spots in the bay it could fit, but I want to be sure. Thanks in advance.
