Talking I'm buying this week

Well, I just sold my wife's 1974 E-150 conversion van and we are getting her a new 2005 RL. I fell in love with it about two months ago and it has been difficult getting my wife on board, but now she too loves the car. On Friday I'm going to go to the dealer and work him for his best price and I need some help. With the end of the model year coming soon and with all the great pricing that the American auto makers are giving out now, I hope that they will be in the mood for some serious negotiations. I checked their inventory this AM and they have 80 RL's on the lot. I don't see many 2005 RL's here in northern VA, but lots of Lexus, BMW's and Mercedes. What do you all think is possible in the current climate? After all, I have 6 dealers within 50 miles to talk buy from.

Welcome to the group. Yes you should be able to negotiate a good price; be sure to check the RL Owner Sign-in Thread (its a sticky at the top of the page). Compare sales price to date bought, not the order posted. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25

Good luck.

Welcome aboard NOVARL, you picked a great time to buy a great car. Acura had the reins on the dealers earlier in the year, but you can now work one dealer against the other and should be able to get a great deal. Don't be afraid to exaggerate how deeply one dealer is willing to discount when talking to another dealer - consider it a way to get even for all the times the dealer exaggerated how little mark up he is making on the cars they sell. The thread that msu79gt82 mentioned should provide you with the numbers that you need ( MSRP, dealer invoice, current factory incentives) to grind them down to a great deal. Good Luck.

Thanks to this forum, I found out what a dealer in PA was selling RL's for now and got them to give me a quote over the internet to take to my local dealer here in DC. Surprise, surprise, they matched it! So I bought today and will take delivery tomorrow. Opulent Blue Pearl with Taupe interior, spoiler (what my wife wanted), splash guards, wood shift knob, and wood steering wheel, all for $45,359.20! I am thrilled (and so is my bank account), a BIG THANKS to everyone on the forum. What a great place for information. NOVARL
