I was parking my black 06 RL in the office parking structure, and a finance guy I had passed in the garage comes up to me a couple minutes later, and says, "Sweet Ride! When did you get the Benz?" When I told him it was an Acura, he was shocked, and said he could have sworn it was a MB.

 

I feel bad for you bro, no one has ever said something so insulting to me.

 

The lightly restyled E-Class definitely has some RL in it, especially from the rear.

 

When I looked at the E Class at the Auto Show last night, I got the impression it was copying the RL more than the RL was copying E Class styling.

 

Who's copying who nowadays?

And LOL at Chas2.....reminds me of my early 3G TL days...when I was the only one with that car on the road, people would tell me, "nice Bimmer".

Given we drive such a limited edition car now, I will expect such comments long after it's discontinued. Take it for the compliment it is.

 

Nah...according to many idiots out there the German brands do not take any styling cues from anyone else and if cars look similar it is everyone copying the German designs. This despite the fact it is clear as day BMW and MB are taking cues from other models that were made BEFORE their cars were.

Actually I think the new C Class looks like the new Accord.

 

I think the back of the new CL looks a lot like the RL. There's a guy driving one by my office and a couple times I've seen it from afar and think, Oh cool, another RL!, just to get closer and find out it is actually the new CL.
