Most of the messages that come up on the nav screen can just be deleted if you open it.

I had the same issue with an AFS message was displayed. It only went away when a dealer ran the codes and reset everything.

if you listen to the message, so it shows as "read", then it should go away after some time. Not sure the exact timeframe, but the messages do eventually clear

easy, do this at your own risk, do not modify any settings.

hold down map guide, menu, cancel, on the navigation.

go to xm selection, go to diagnostic info, choose message thats annoying you, and choose delete.

I looked at messages last night and there is a Read and Delete option. Are you saying the Delete option is not there for this specific message?

Clear error messages

Thanks man! That worked super. It is nice to see some user functionality for diagnostics without dealer involvement

I don't have a diagnostic selection. I have xm (hip). I select it and it gives me two options system link and Ecu.

Map guide + menu + cancel does nothing on your car?

It gives me a menu of about 12 options, but none are diagnostic. One says xm as I posted. Not sure what to choose.

I doubt any of them will spontaneously combust your car, so just start pressing buttons. That's how kids learn computers.

It worked...

Just tried it as I had a headlight message I couldn't delete. After holding down map guide, menu, cancel, on the navigation.

Went to XM (HIP)

Oh man thanks so much! I just removed years of codes from 2 dead batteries and a dead alternator. All clean now! No HDS tool needed!
