How to clean your headlight

I can see some water mark in my headlight assembly. Anyone know how to clean them before I take everything apart and find out it can't be done? Thanks

I have that too. It looks like I get frost inside the assembly in the winter. I have not dared trying to clean it though. Let us know if you find it is doable...

Same problem here....frost in cold weather. Noticed this morning after going through the touchless that I actually had droplets inside...sizeable ones. Don't see a single crack, scratch, etc. Maybe a bad seal. Anyone know if this is a warranty item (assuming it is). Aside from being really annoying, I don't think those bulbs are happy in a wet environment.

If your car still under warranty, dealer will replace it.
I got both headlight replaced last winter just show it to the service advisor and no question asked they said gonna take care of it, gave me loaner and 2 days later picked the car with brand new headlights.

Great to hear. I'll give them a call right now. Thanks for the info!

That's pretty goodI wonder if they'll replace the headlights if it was the owner's fault in that they didn't seal it correctly after experimenting with them. Would they find out? Not that I've done it, just curious.

I have a dealership appointment for next week and have mentioned the problem. Mind you, I mentioned it at my last appointment and they said nothing when I picked up the car (in the evening). I'll see what they say this time... Thanks.

If they found the headlight been altered they won't replace it.

Well at first when I noticed the condensation I brought it to the dealer and it was gone but when you look at it carefully you'll notice the streak inside the headlight and when I show it to them like I said no question ask they gave me loaner and I'm on my way.

One thing you need to pay attention once they installed the new headlight make sure they align with the bumper and the fender.
I had to come because of that but overall I'm happy got both headlights BRAND NEW. (I asked the service advisor if I can get the old one or buy it, he said they send the old one to Acura to do investigation what caused the condensation, bummer)

Anyway good luck guys, hopefully your dealer will replace the headlight.

Sounds like an opportunity to replace with JDM lights if you're willing to pay the price. $$$$

However, I'm glad that Acura is stepping up to the plate with these.

Condensation/frost was obviously gone by the time the car was at the dealer. They say there is nothing to be done if they don't see it.

Thumbs down

I forgot to report back on my dealer experience on this. Brought the car in back in March, got the loaner. They called later in the day and said they could not recreate the problem, so no replacement. Told me to "stop by" the next time I see the "active" condensation. According to my cruddy service department, the lights are suppose to allow any condensation to evaporate in 30 mins. Anyway, I've got condensation in there now, and it looks like its going to stay a while, so I guess I'll take a trip to the dealer on Monday morning. It's a crappy excuse, honestly, because you can see condensation marks in both headlights. Also, I don't know if I believe the lights should allow enough condensation to get drips!

There has been a change this fall (2009); I reported the problem to my dealer again and, this time, they ordered the parts and scheduled an appointment. They replaced both earlier this month (Dec 09) under warranty. Hopefully, that will be the end of the problem...

Hi I had the same problem in Jan 2007

I took pictures that I sent to the dealer. They replaced both headlights.

Here is what they looked like. It was a very cold night...

Question Effective

Yikes! That's much worse than what I had. Can we assume that the problem has not re-appeared since 2007? If so, I guess the repair is effective and that's reassuring...

I occasionally have this problem too with my 04 TL. But it comes and goes...and I live in a warm climate so it's not too bad. I don't think there's much that can be done because I had it on my RSX too and they replaced the lights and the new ones kind of did too.
