HFL Caller ID Problem

Is everyone with a '05-'08 KB1 getting Caller ID info on the MID if they have an Apple product? I have an iPhone 6 Plus / iOS 12.4.3 and I no longer get Caller ID. What's weird is that if there's a 2nd call that comes in, I get ID on that call but not the original one. Can't figure out if this is an incompatibility issue between HFL and the iOS version or if it's just my phone. Everything else works just fine, I can answer calls as needed with HFL, have signal & battery strength on the MID, just no Caller ID anymore and since we all get so many junk calls from telemarketers, I'd like to be able to screen the calls without having to pull the phone out of my pocket. Thanks!

I'm not certain if i ever saw a person's name in the MID.. i think it's always been just the number.

Could it be in the MID settings?

I don't even get the number and have never seen the name either. All I want is the number. Where are the settings for the MID? Thanks!

You press on the up or down, i forgot, for about 5 seconds, and the MID goes into settings mode.

My 2006 RL only shows the phone number. It does not support bluetooth address book sync.

I think y'all are misunderstanding what I'm asking. I don't expect to get contact names or address books. I had to replace my original HFL module with one from a junkyard and now I don't even get the phone number displayed on the MID and I don't know if its a HFL/Bluetooth thing or or an Apple iOS thing. It's definitely not a setting on the MID. I was hoping that someone on here a with a KB1 with an iPhone 6 or newer with iOS version 12.4 could tell me if they still get the number displayed on the MID so I can figure out if my problem is a common one or just a one-off. Thanks---

You did not say you replced your hfl unit. Obviously it may have something to do with that other than an ios or mid issue!

I think i read somewhere here in the past that units like the HFL need to be programmed by dealer. But I'm uncertain. I suspect this more than anything else.

Yeah, I forgot about having to replace the HFL unit, the original one totally died. The one that's in there now is supposedly out of an '08 but with junkyards, you never know. I spoke with a friend of mine that's an Acura tech and he said that he didn't recall having any programming steps (other than pairing) on the HFL units that he's replaced and the FSM doesn't show any programming steps when replacing an HFL unit either. I'm going to the dealer on Monday to get the transmission range snitch replaced, guess I'll have them look at that too. Acura's HFL customer service group is worse than useless.

Just a number, not a name.
The number is stored in the HFL when you program it.

Thanks but I'm not talking about displayingnumbers and names stored in the HFL phone book. I'm talking about the number from a regular incoming call not being displayed on the Multi Information Display (MID), which is basic Bluetooth technology. My HFL doesn't do that and I'm trying to determine if it's a fault with the HFL/Bluetooth module or an incompatibility issue with Apple's OS for iPhones. Apparently I'm the only one on the planet that has this problem lol.

I seriously doubt it has anythin to do with the iphone 6. You can pair a different phone and try to make sure. Also check if your caller ID service is ok.

if all ok, then maybe that module is faulty, or some kind of programming.... it does seem odd.

You were right, it had nothing to do with the iPhone and everything to do with the HFL module. I replaced the current one with a "new" one out of an '08 and viola'---I have Caller ID appearing on the MID again on incoming calls just like it's supposed to. So a word of advise to those that are experiencing the same lack of Caller ID issue---if that feature is important to you, get another HFL module from car-part.com or some other auto salvage yard as the problem is not with Apple's iOS for iPhone. At least not this time. Thanks to everybody for their input.
