I think you can do better than that. People were paying that for cars with no miles.

Lol. Canada is getting 10k off RL's and it's still above 50k.

Purchase price on an RL Tech in Atlanta is ~$41500.

MDX Navigation is ~$39800.

I'd go for the latter...

That's a misconception that dealers prefer cash. They would actually prefer you finance it because they get spiffs, (or whatever they call them) back from the banks on selling the loan.

They need to be careful with this claim, completely inaccurate and false advertising.

That is correct. 29 only comes with long range highway cruising. This is misleading.

That dealer is smoking some funny stuff. The 09's are coming out very, very soon. At invoice, I believe the tech is $41,500. I understand the need to make money but at some point in time, cutting losses is more important, especially for a car that hasn't moved in great numbers....

That car should go for no more than $38-39K, for a savy customer. However, as they say, there's a sucker born every minute...

"You gotta do what you gotta do" Yeah, they understand no one will pay MSRP or even a little below that amount for an RL - Sadly.. Like you said some return is better then none...

Not even a return. If the car's going to sit on the lot for months, they're paying interest on a car that probably isn't going to bring in a profit, period.

I mean they're making something on it.. I'm aware of holding costs but they wouldn't sell it at a lost.. If anything they would settle to just break even and recooperate their expense. I'm sure honda offers nice discounts on the car off the price a dealer would normally pay often referred to as "trunk money."

I think the dealers are not netting what they would like to get on the RL, and because of weak sales have accepted a low profit margin on it.

I agree with you, although I have a friend who works for BMW and he said when they got a cash customer they preferred them because they had the money in hand. If customer chooses to finance they will still get the money but sometimes it was more of a hassle finding a lender that would buy the loan. So cash customers are preferred.
