going black on 2nd gen RL grill

Long time listener, first time caller.
Thinking of coating the grill of my second gen RL flat black, though leaving the Acura emblem chromed. My buddy just blacked out the badges and grill of his MBC300, and I'm thinking it might look good, especially as the 'chrome' chips so easily, instead of replacing the nearly $300 regularly...
Share some thoughts or pictures. If I decide to I'll post pictures.

I like it. Results vary with color and which chrome you decide to keep.

I would plastidip. If you don't like it, pull it off and try again. If you do like it, throw a clear coat on top, and it will last a good while.

Next best choice would be vinyl.

What colour is your RL? I've always loved white but hard to find. I like what they did in the first pic.

As for clear plastidip, check with whomever carries it. In the last 3 or 4 years plastidip went from 4 colours (ya I said it), to a bunch including clear. It can be had here easily and we never get anything haha

The white RL was Zelaya's. His build thread is in the Photo sub-forum, and it is IMO, the best RL we have ever seen here with Togue's being a close second (white too).

I chose flat black, I like it, though a gloss coat over would probably be nice too. I also left the emblem chrome. it was rather easy... even with a few beers during the process. thanks for the encouragement! after the snow ill see how it fairs through a carwash and post another image

Avoid direct pressure washing on the grill, and it should be good for a while.

Looks good. I think this is what I'm going to do to my grill.
