Ext. Warranty Info?

Need to clarify issues to extend the AcuraCare warranty, not debate the value of such warranties. Also not interested in any third-party warranties.
If you buy used, the 4yr/50K mile can be extended anytime up to those parameters?
CPO can ONLY be extended at the time of purchase from an Acura dealer?

CPO extension prices seem to vary wisely since the dealers know you have no alternative.

Thanks

If your car is CPO but still within 4yrs 50K miles, you should be able to buy an Acura care extended warranty from any dealer in the country and it will be honored at any other Acura dealer in the country.

Not so sure about CPO but outside of the 4yrs 50k miles from in service date though. May be hard to get an Acura care that way.

I have read this isn't accurate, you MUST buy the extension at time of purchase or you're outta luck.
Which would mean the dealer can pretty much charge whatever...

Crazy cause I bought my car used then bought my extended warranty a few months later when the factory warranty ended.

The issue is extending the CPO coverage from an Acura dealer at time of purchase.
If it's not an Acura CPO purchase, I believe you can buy AcuraCare from ANY dealer as long as it's within the original 4yr/50K mile warranty

I follow, shame the CPO branding doesn't carry the same value to match that inconvenience.

OK, got a definitive answer today.
As long as it's still under the original 48mo/50K mile warranty, regardless of CPO status, you can upgrade to an additional 5yrs &/or 80K miles from ANY Acura dealer but, not to exceed 8yrs/120K since it's in-service date.
If it's beyond the original warranty but CPO, you're at the mercy of the dealer selling it as CPO for any extension beyond one yr/12K miles

Yes this makes sense. As long as you're within 4 yrs 50k, your best bet is to shop around for an Acura Care.
