Does this happen to anyone else?

Everytime I go to a department store, I throw off the sensors when I exit the store and sometimes when I enter. It only happens when I go there with the RL. I am thinking it's the keyless entry fob. There is no other explaination to it. It happens even when I don't buy anything. So it has to be it. Does it happen to everyone else or am I the only one?

Haha. That's how I feel everytime I leave a store. I always have to look back and have them say it's okay to leave. For some reason, it mostly happens in stores like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. It happened again last night at Target. I has got to be my key fob. The only common denominator I could think of is the RL. It only happens when that is the car I use to go to the stores. It never happens when I use our MDX or our previous cars.

Did someone slip a sensor tag into your drink?

I'm wondering about space aliens. You know, they say they implant chips in people's heads so they can experiment on them and track them like wild monkeys or something. I'm worried that he's been abducted.

(Okay, okay, he asked a serious question. I shouldn't be making fun of him. Should I? )

Ditto. Never had that happen that I can attribute to the key fob -- usually it's just my shoplifting habit that sets off the alarm. (kidding!)

No seriously, it's never happened.

Never had a key fob do it, but in certain stores, my company id/building access badge will set off alarms. It is very infrequent, 1 in 1000

I guess it only happens to me. No wonder I couldn't find any threads on this. I'm gonna have to try and test it out in the store next time it happens. I'll have my wife try it. She has not had it happen to her but then she has not been using my car that much going to the stores.

Hmmm. I carry my access card in my wallet. It never happened to me before the RL but maybe the combination of the two is setting the alarms off. Who knows. It really hasn't been an inconvenience but I'd like to know what causes it.

Perhaps your fob emits the same frequency that those sensors are looking for. I presume all of the fobs have a unique frequency.

Next time you're at the store, hold the fob in your hand and put your hand through the sensor to see if it is the fob causing it. At least you'll know for sure.

If you bought a new wallet look in the pockets they slip paperthin sensors in them that are hard to find, happened to me. Check anything that you wear every day that may be new.

Could be your cell phone! I had a Cingular 8725 or whatever is called, and at one particular wal-mart it went off when I enter/exit. The lady told me that its probably the Cell, I pretty much have the samething in my pocket all the time(04 TL keys, cell, change, wallet).
Good luck, hope you figure out what it is because people love to stare at the guy that "stole something". Thats when you stare back and

Enter the store through the exit doors and see if it goes off. Better yet dangle your fob across the line and see what happens.

I ended up having to hold the badge above my head, which caused other problems until they got to know me.

This has never happened to me.

My company does have a keycard entry system and the first generation cards we were given were known to occassionally set off secuity sensors. Do you carry anything else on you that may trip the alarm?
