To Debadge or Not?

I've already debadged my RL ... Just wondering what your opinions are. I've attempted to illustrate the difference using a picture I found online. With a graphics program, I added the rear spoiler and debadged the script lettering (but left the Acura logo). From many angles, I think itz a much cleaner look.

I personally like the badges on there...I like the look and plus it lets people know what it is (besides just an Acura). The RL is a car that not too many people probably know about, so to have it debadged will definitely add some mystery.

That being said, I think it looks good without the badges, too. A matter of taste.

If it were mine, I would have left them. But that's just me. Either way, you can't go wrong.

I like the partial debadge look: Just the Acura logo and "RL". I haven't done this (yet) but I notice that a lot of Hondas have just the Honda logo with the model of the car. This should be all the info you need. Now if Acura had just gone with just the logo plus the word "LEGEND", that would have been sweeet!

I'd go with the logo, Acura, and RL, leaving out the SHAWD. I like the balance that this presents.

But it's hard to decide from the pictures. My opinion might change entirely if I saw the possibilities side-by-side in real life.

Never really understood why people like to debadge their cars. On the CL, I think it looks really bad; sort of unfinished. But on the RL, it doesn't look bad but seems unnecessary and a waste of time and effort.

I tried to determine if it does look better without the badges. I think the posted pictures make the car look squat and therefore detract from the debadged look.

The same could be said for why manufactures insist on badging the cars; it is unnecessary to put anything beyond what identifies the car from another make and model. The same goes for the dealer adding his name to a sticker or license frame. I look at it being my car and I don't want to do any advertising for them.

That said I haven't debadged yet for fear that my wife would catch me doing it and give me the . So, yes, I do bend to peer pressure.

debadge the TL, you know you want to!

427, you could do as others have said, leave the Logo and RL, remove the SH-AWD badge and the ACURA badge... that would look good, or everything removed except the logo like I have done on my TL... good luck!

I personally don't think it makes much of a difference, but the deck spoiler sure does! I would highly recommend it.

The first thing I did when I got home...

...Was to remove the pin-striping and the badges. I left the Acura Emblem; mainly due to the fact that that there would be two holes left in the trunk

I like the trunk w/o the spoiler...but I like the way the entire A-SPEC pkg looks.

The dealer installed the pin striping. I cannot stand having anything on my cars that does not belong.

I don't understand the point of debadging and would never do it but to each their own. To me it just seems like people do it to try and have their car different from the others but again, to each their own.

I think the debadged pic looks nice.

To each his own. Not a great angle in the pic. I love the way the spoiler looks on my RL.

Re: the pinstriping... I can't believe dealers even bother w/ pinstriping these days! It's so dated.
