Finally got my aspec/rear sway bar installed with my oem 17's.. I immediately noticed a much better handle but still not too bumpy of a ride (as compared to the 18's)..

As for my stock sway bar & suspension, the dealer took them & said they dispose of them (which I didn't really believe). Don't they give the parts back to you by default?? They said I had to request it beforehand but might be able to look for it & "find" it after the busy holiday weekend.. My guess is that they might reuse them on someone else's car since my car has such low mileage & is essentially new..

 

I don't think they would reuse parts due to liability issues. Unless it was part of the body and didn't affect safety.

 

I do believe the dealer is correct-they usually dispose of the parts unless you request them back beforehand. If is under warranty they sometimes send those parts back to Acura to be looked over.

 

correct...most parts are useless to a dealer and therefore are trashed unless you request the part back when making arrangements to have it repaired. rule of thumb is when you are having parts replaced always ASK for the OLD part back that way you can see what the dealer actually replaced just my

 

Well it is possible they kept it you never know with dealers what they do its very hard to trust them

 

Thanks guys, I'm a newbie when it comes to dealerships & getting stuff done by them as you can see lol.. It sucks though that those parts were new & if for some reason, I decided to give up the aspec for the stock ride (don't see it happening though), then I'd have to repurchase parts..

 

those stock parts are not worth much to them, you, or anyone.... I doubt they were trying to "keep" them and reuse them... they went into the trash...

did you get aspec shocks / springs? on 17s? did you use to have 18s?

how do you like the ride before/ after.. what was your before setup and what is the afte rsetup?

Thanks!! I took some blurry pics with my cell which I can post up a in a bit. The aspec & '09 rear sway bar are on my oem 17's in chrome. I feel a little more of a harsh ride but the handling is definitely better than my stock setup. It's also a nicer stance.. I heard it's a bit rough on 18's though which is why I think aspec/17's are the perfect compromise.. I'd highly recommend it.

 

I have 19's with h&r and aspec shocks it feels great!

 

All replaced parts are thrown away... a very big no no for a dealership to sell you a used part as new, you have the right to request everything that was replaced on your car... i have seen customer has far as requesting the old oil drained from the car....
