Countdown to Purchase!

I'm aiming to buy an 07 RL w/tech early next week in the DC/Baltimore area.

Thanks for the sharing your experiences and the wealth of information on the site!

I'll post how it goes afterwards in the RL owners thread.

Many thanks,

Greg

Welcome to AZ!

We hope you've learned something from us. There are a bunch of people here from the DC Metro who I'm sure will help you figure out where to buy.

Good luck with the purchase Greg!! Hope you get a stellar deal..

If you don't mind, could you please PM me the name of the dealer after you purchase the vehicle. I am also planning to buy towards the end of the month.

Have fun!!

Best of luck with the purchase Greg. Did you have a color in mind? You won't be disappointed, the RL is an amazing machine!

Good luck and welcome. After almost a year and 16K miles, I'm still in love with this car.

Talking

Welcome Greg...and what great taste you have!

The RL may not be the choice of the masses, but it appears to be the choice of the select few who are wise enough to purchase based on personal taste and not public opinion.

Can you smell that new car yet?

Thanks for the encouragement!

Opulent Blue Pearl/Taupe for us. I'll spring for the wood steering wheel and shift knob too.

We test drove many luxury sedans. Infinity, Audi, BMW, Merc, Caddy, Lexus... plus sat in many at the DC auto show. The Lexus LS 460 was sweet but we just couldn't see putting $60K+ into it with only RWD offered. Then we ran across the RL. Absolutely the best value out there. Hands down.

Thanks to everyone for making the marketing incentive and hold back visible.

If I can get the price down to what others are spending (~$42K) I'll be in SH-AWD heaven.

Greg

May the force be with you and phasers on stun...(you don't want to kill the salesperson, just stun him/her a bit with the knowledge you gained from Acurazine!).

When I was nogotiating with the salesperson, a "force ghost" of Neuronbob appeared to me and told me "...trust your feelings....insist on the trunk tray!"

Actually I can't back that up...I don't even know what Neuronbob looks like...except for the PET scan of his brain...

Good luck Greg. About $42K would be a very good price for the RL TECH.

Great advice here from vodoc. Say no to the extended warranty, window etching, paint sealant, and any other extra things they want you to buy.

I have the wood steering wheel and feel it's a great add on.

Greg,

Disclaimer: I've owned two dark blue/taupe cars in the last decade (a Volvo 850 and a Saab 9-5)...love the color combo myself as it is very classy. But just so you know: the used-car pros call it "no-sale blue." So I hope you plan to keep your new RL a long, long time!

Really though, you can't go wrong. You are going to love this high-tech critter.

I'll have it a while. It's replacing an 11 year old Infiniti I30T.

Thanks,

Greg

Smile

I love the Op Blue Pearl. In the shade or dark, it appears dark navy. In the sun it glows to a near sapphire color.

But being a darker color, it does show dust, pollen and blemishes similarly to NBP.

Go with what YOU like and enjoy the ride!

Smile Great Price Quote?

I live in San Diego. A very close friend (20 yr) friend of mine is GM of an Acura dealer in Nevada. Will sell me '07 with Tech Pkg for about $41,500...and expect to be able to give me about $14,000 trade for my good condition '03 TL-S. Feels like a very good deal, but with all this talk of deep discounting on RL's, is it? If so would like to get the larger wheels that retail about $1500, should I expect any discount on those? Personally I think this is the most under appreciated, classic looking, 6 cyl lux out there...(want a lakeshore silver with ebony interior) Appreciate any comments

If the dollars balance out, go for it. But only buy the RL if you plan on driving it into the ground. As you know, resale value can't get much worse for this car.

Also..keep in mind that once your warranty expires, parts for the car will cost more then a comparable part for an STS, GS or Infiniti M. Mostly because with the lack of RL sales, parts inventory will be low (and costly). Take that $1,500 and get an extended warranty.

I'm from the Northern Va, I bought my 2006 RL at Radley Acura in Falls Church. Best buying experience I ever had. I would highly recommend checking their if you are willing to venture out a bit. I bought my 2006 at the end of the year in Nov. 2006, but got the car for $39,500 w/ destination...but had to pay the processing fee/tax/tags. Car had 8 miles on it when delivered. If you want the sales guy I worked with, I can give you his name.

Btw, 6 months of driving and still loving everything about the car. Best bang for the buck!!!

Good luck!
