Buying 2006 Demo Need help

I looking to purchase a 2006 demo Rl with nav and tech for $41,900. The car has 2,400 miles on it. Is this a fair price or am i making a mistake? The sticker says demo not for sale? Thanks for your help.

Yes, that is a mistake when you can get a new one for that price. Where are you from? I am also in the market for an '06, but looking to only spend around 36-36.5k with low miles (under 10k). You might want to wait and shop around, look out for some deals on one year leases coming up. For 2k miles, I wouldn't pay more then 39k if you can work them down. I guess the bottom line is this, if you budget is 41-42k, you can DEFINITELY get a NEW one. Acura has discounted the RL big time and many of the newer '06 members here picked up their RL's in that price range.

You feel that you could get a 2006 rl with tech less than $41,900? The list is around $53 k.

Well, if you want the base with all the goodies except the tech stuff, you can find one in the 40-42k range.....I don't know what ppl are spending on the tech package these days, The list price on '06 RL's is inconsequential at this point because of the incentives.

That is a good deal. Perhaps thay can throw in a few extra goodies.
I picked up a 3K demo 06 RL with nav, tech pack, rear cam, rear spoiler, protection package, mud guards, trunk net and more for 42k.

Right now, You could get a bran new 06 RL with nav for 40-41K if you can get into some heavy bargaining. A bran new 06 RL with nav and tech-pack only could be snagged for 43-44K, again with some heavy bargaining. A well accessorized 06 RL with teck-pack with lots of goodies can be snagged for for 45-47K Bran New. For your demo, the price could be a bit better but it's not bad. As a trump card, remind the salesperson that in a few weeks, the car will be a 1 year old model and will need to be further discounted if they want to move them out. Hope this helps. Good Luck. It's a great car.

Hey Synth, remember both of us got quoted a 06 RL w/ tech, back camera, deck lid, 6K miles and damage on the front corner for over 50K...

I still can't believe they had the nerve to continue to offer that lousy deal.

And also to add, take a look at my other thread... I found a local '06 RL with tech package, 9k miles for 37.5k. Sure, this has 6500 more miles then the demo you saw, but is your demo worth the additional $4,400? If you think it is, then go for it. But I can guaruntee if you wait another month or two, you will find some deals in the 36k range with under 10k miles. But I don't know if you need to be under a certain mileage. For me, I just want the car to be in great condition and under 10k in miles. As long as everything checks out, I'm happy with the balance of the 50k warranty.

I read your other thread and kind of held off responding to it. I don't want to skew your decision based on my personal feelings. If you would like to know it, let me know.

The key is, if you like the deal, are happy with condition of the car and would enjoy this, then do it. Only you and your wife can answer this.

This should help

Thought this would add some perspective:

Consumer Reports Wholesale Price
What the dealer paid for this car. $39,098

Invoice
Dealer invoice price. $44,577

MSRP
Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price. $49,970

Dealer Holdback 1,479

The dealer pays 39,098 for the price after the 4k incentive and the holdback. They are need to make money to stay in business. Bargain from their cost up.

The car I was interested has a Tech package. Do you have the dealer cost for this package? Thanks.

Question

the delear has come back with following offer?

2006 rl with Nav & Tech Package
Demo 2.4 k miles
weather package-mats,truck liner, wheel locks
Free detailing of car to get out minor scracthes

Lakeshore Silver. I can't find this color anywhere else?
The car looks great.

Reducing the price by $500 to $41,400 from the last negogiated price

What does everyone think about price and color lakeshore silver?

Assuming this is the 2006 tech package (CMBS and PAX), you are getting a good deal. I'd go for it. Be warned, though: you can get the 2006 non-tech for what you're paying for a used tech.

I dunno, personally I don't like demo's because they get beaten on during test drives, but the price seems fair.
