Average speed

My average speed has been always 28 mph and not changing at all. MPG changes constantly but not average speed. My daily commute envoles slow freeway driving but I think I'm going faster than 28mph. How about yours?

I think I saw a thread on this before. The ave speed does not reset when Trip A or Trip B resets. You have to reset it specifically - I can't recall how, but it is in the manual

It is not that intuitive and it also should reset with Trip A automatically. It will be fixed with Vista SP1!

The average speed does not reset when Trip A resets automatically at fill-up (assuming you have the auto-reset at fill-up activated). To reset the average speed you need to reset Trip A manually by holding the Sel/Reset button down with Trip A on the MID.

Thanks for the info, thats one I didn't know. By the way, no one should be surprised about the fuel economy, the RL is not economical, it provdes only slightly better fuel economy than our touring Ody. Not surprising, given the RL's AWD and higher power.

I always reset Trip A and B manually at fill-up - I seem to get right around 20.0 mpg on average, with a combination of highway/city driving. Not too bad considering the traffic in Boston. I'll take the trade-off of slightly lower mileage for the SH-AWD. The weight of the RL is also a big factor in the mileage #'s. It's a heavy car.
