Am I crazy??
Am I crazy??
I been thinking about getting the new Audi A4. I think that car is so sexy especially those lights. Now I know its probably a step backwards but i really like that car. I love my 05 RL but I'm thinking its time for a change to something a little more updated. There are features in the Audi that i would love to have, but i would probably lose a few features from the RL. Any thoughts from my fellow Acura family??
A4 is a smaller car which when optioned it will eclipse the price of an RL.
You're going from Luxury to Sport Luxury so I assume the ride will be stiffer.
I am personally not a fan on the audi eye brow.
If DSG is available for A4 I'd go for that option as that tranny does wonders to fuel economy and acceleration figures.
Aside from the tranny, I personally don't like Audi's that much. Never driven one so maybe I'm missing something. Take it for a test drive...

I looked at a 2004 RS6 before buying a 2005 RL. Hell of a car, but I couldn't help but thinking I was one repair bill away from bankruptcy.
All my experience is with the older model A4s and A6s, which some friends have. The A4 is narrower. They are good for leasing, but the electronics are endemically flakey - so later in life the displays (lots of red dot matrix no less) tend to have blank lines, or just be blank.
Funnish to drive, though if you're going there you might as well go over to BMW and be fun to drive. Same maintenance issues.

For four years I owned a 1998 A4 which was a blast to drive and handled well in the snow with Hakka snow tires. One winter I was heading home after work with the outside temp a -9°. On the highway doing about 70, the throttle stuck. After a few pull-overs and a white knuckle ride home, I decided to dump the car for a twin turbo 2000 S4. Again, owned it for 4 years and it was more of a blast to drive etc., but after the car hit 70K one thing after another needed repair or replacing. Long story short, the last two years of ownership I dumped close to $6K into the car.
I love Audi's, but if I got another one I would sell it as soon as the warranty was up.
