Adjusting passenger temp with driver's
I've had my 2011 RL for a couple of months, and now that the weather is getting cold here in Denver (we hit -2F. this week) I find I'm adjusting the cabin temperature more often. My question is about the dual climate control for the driver and passenger. I can't find a way to turn off the dual temperature control. On my '09 Accord EX V6, the driver's temperature button controls both sides until the passenger would change their temperature. The climate controls had a "dual" button, that I could push to turn the dual control off when I didn't have a passenger. How do I do this in the RL? The owner's manual doesn't say.
Thanks in advance!

OP I am sorry behalf of RL owner for Monkey answers above.
Now let me explain to you...
On the 05-08 RL has dual climate function (physical button), however for the KB2 (09-12) model gain 2 extra important buttons (fan speed and mode) for HVAC control.
The Dual function isn't available on the button control for 09-12 RL. You will have to move each lever until they are match.
NOTE there is one exception, that cabin temperature will move as the same when you have the mode to front defroster on. That is the only time you will have "dual" function.

Sounds like an oversight in the design department.

Yes that is correct, the 09-12 always in split mode. I would rather fiddle with split mode than not able to control the HVAC once the screen/ DVD navi rom crap out. Unlike the 3g TL there are no button for full HVAC control.

Looks like the KB2 replaced the Dual button with the Mode button. I don't think the lack of Dual mode is a big deal. I almost never touch the temp controls.

Also don't forget about the voice activation that you can use to bring both side as the same temp.

Thanks for the responses. I forget that I can control the temperatures with voice commands. I'll give that a try.
The temperature adjustment is something I use a lot in Denver, especially this time of year. It was 29 F this morning when I left for work, and the high today was 52. It does seem like an oversight that I have to adjust both temperatures independently using the buttons. I also wish there was an AC button on the dash, rather than having to go into the climate control menu to turn it on and off. Pic of my climate control is below.

That makes sense since you live in San Jose. Denver regularly has temperature swings of 30 - 40 degrees between sunup and midday. Set it and forget it doesn't work well on those days.

I have the 09-12 control unit in my 06 RL lol, as far as temp swing. You can't compare with Houston lately 36 in the morning going to 75 during the day, I left mine at at 68-70 during winter and 66 during summer months, here another though about complaint of why you need to adjust it.
The RL/TL of the same generation actually using GPS signal to process how much A/C or heat being blast to the occupant relative to the sun direction. Don't believe me? next time put it on auto during the day and make a turn and notice the fan speed will change along how much cold/heat air coming out from driver vent.
