4th battery

My 3rd battery in my 2005 RL is now showing the classic symptoms of failing, i.e., wheel won't telescope when starting and door lock misbehaves on occassion.
I will have it tested this weekend. If it is bad, it did not even make it 2 years!

Oh. There was a thread a while back about a person who's car was slowly draining their battery. I want to say the amp or XM unit was defective and there may be a TSB(?). You should get more than 2 years, but most batteries also have more than 2 years on their warranty. Thus, you may not ever have to buy a battery again.

I know now that Acura covered the battery under warranty, but when my first battery failed, I did not realize that. My bad. I've never had a battery fully covered under warranty. So I replaced myself.
I think the aftermarket batteries have a warranty, but usually they are prorated. That is, if warranted for 3 years and you only get 2, then you get 1/3 of price credited.

Not true about the after markets. They are warrantied for one period and prorated thereafter. My battery is fully covered for three years and prorated for the next three. 3 years from now = free battery, 4.5 years = 1/2 off, 6 years and it's on me.

Might want to check your connections at the amp and see if your wires are live. I have had to fix another local RL that had the same issue. bought a new amp new fuses ect. and still was draining battery. so only other option was to run a new fuse and wire back to the amp and now the issue has been fixed. i would hate to see what acura would charge to chase down a bad circuit and replace it.
