New hid not as bright

I had a flicker in passenger side bulb. I replaced only that bulb and now it's more yellow where my driver side is more of a clear bright light...will this bulb break in and become brighter or should I have replace both?

Yes, they break in over a period of weeks. You can expect it to become both brighter and less yellow.

HID Bulbs take anywhere from 10-50 hours to Color shift to a more white.

007 does make a good point. Most aftermarket bulbs are OK But not spot on with OEM. A lot of issues with aftermarket bulbs not seating properly in the HID projector. some have little bumps that can be uneven creating at odd HOTSPOT or can give a distorted look to the cutoff.

OEM Bulbs are Manufactured By GE, Phillips, Osram, Kioto. In our case for the RL Is GE 4200K bulbs

which bulb did you get the 85122 or the 85122+ ? and there might a slight difference due to the RL using GE 4200K bulbs where the phillips are a 4300K.

GE bulbs 3200 Lumens
Philips 85122 3300 Lumens
Philips 85122+ 3600 Lumens

So there is a difference in the bulbs

Nobody asked me, but...

I just got a pair of Philips D2S from Amazon. The posters who'd bought them said they corresponded to 85122+, even though their package didn't say so. I had an intermittent, slowly worsening flicker on the right side that I guessed was from the bad batch of HIDs that I'd read on this site occurred in early RL's (mine's an '06).

Anyway, I replaced the pair so there'd be no chance of a color mismatch. The 85122's are supposed to be just a bit less blue than the original 85122's, but mine show no yellow whatsoever. And if they're less blue, I don't mind, because human vision supposedly gets less visual information out of bluer light at night anyway. I'm well pleased with mine.

if you looks at the base of the bulb it will tell you what they actually are.

From left to Right
Morimoto 4300K
Morimoto 5000k
Philips 85122+
Philips DL50

The old bulb is an osram. I'll just order another Phillips bulb for the driverside just to be safe.
