3rd party extended warranty
Hi Guys,
I have been thinking about getting an extended warranty for my car (67,000 miles). My car is not eligible for Acuracare since it has more than 50,000 miles.
I searched the forums for warranty and got a lot of posts for extended warranties but did not get much information about 3rd party extended warranty. Does any one here have 3rd party extended warranties? and what are you experience with them.
I searched online and found a company called warrantydirect.com. Does anyone have any experience with company. I called my local dealer here in wisconsin and they don't offer any warranties.
Also I called a dealer in Chicago to see if they offer any 3rd party warranty and they quoted me for 1500 for 30 months/30,000 miles for a gold plan which covers most of the things in the car with a company called resource group in chicago. How is this price or company.
Please share you experience. Thanks.

Extended warranty
I had a third party extended warranty on my 97 RL. They always found a loophole to get out of the claim. When my power window failed they would not pay because they only covered the "power window motor" and Acura called the replacement part a "power window regulator". Save your money in a bank CD.

I have been asking some 3rd party companies but non of them seem to cover the electronics (navi, bluetooth, music system, etc). I was kinda hoping to get something close to Acurcare. Too Bad.

A lot of third party warranties require you to pay up front and "apply" for reimbursement. Almost all require some sort of precertification for the repair before they will even consider paying for it or reimbursing you for money you laid out up front...in addition to paying for the warranty...up front. The odds are not in your favor.

Bottom line: third party warranties stink. Spend your money on mods or invest it instead.

3rd parties do stink.
Got one with my 03 TL and well, NEVER used it! Didn't cover a couple things and I thought I was sooo safe and secure with it.
