2011 RL Overheating
2011 RL Overheating
Pardon if thread exists. Florida 2011 RL. 152K mint. 2nd owner. I purchased March 2020. Prior owner spent $36K in maintenance and service. No wrecks. Just about every major system requiring service has been replaced in last 60k. Overheated on wife after period of low speed errands and then idle in long wait at drive thrus. 1st symptom ac begins to blow warmer air then Acura spec coolant blows out too of reservoir. Wife has successfully shutdown before reaching red on temp gauge.
All fans operating. Does not overheat as long as 45 plus mph air moving through grill. I replaced coolant fan motor 8 mos ago when I noticed bearings failing.
Blows hot air fine. Cooling system serviced 135k 18 mos ago. I've pressure tested system with no leaks.
Appreciate your suggestions. Cheers

Thank you Miie734. I was thinking it may be Tstat and yes I know to run heat. My wife and son were stranded yesterday when it overheated coming home from MD. I filled radiator back up and got it home making sure they didn't stop and idle.
Once home I did find Radiator fan was not running (although temp was below mid point on gauge). Unplugged both fans and ran jump wire from battery direct to each fan motor. Ah ha! Condenser fan ran however Radiator side (driver's side) would not run. So I'm now adding a replacement fan motor to my list.
