Overheating!
Overheating!
I just got home from work and half way on my drive back i noticed that my temp gauge is going up under acceleration. I turned off the heater which wasn't blowing any hot air, which kind of helped and i had to inch my way back. I checked if the hoses were leaking but they weren't, is it possible that it could be the head gasket?
When was the last time you changed the coolant?
More than likely you need to get that done. If you recently DID get it changed, there might be an air pocked in the system and it needs to be bled.

Check radiator for any blockage or debris that might affect air flow.
Check that both cooling fans are running when AC compressor is engaged. If a fan is off, it may have failed.
Check whether thermoswtich A is closing and enabling cooling fans (AC off) when temp reaches preset limit (~185?).
You could have a "sticky" thermostat that is not fully compensating for changes in coolant temp. This would be most noticeable when engine is cold and first driving. Coolant temp may overshoot before thermostat opens and allows cooling. Also you may notice temperature going below normal after driving at highway speed and driving steadily at low speed. New OEM thermostat is best fix.
good luck

well i just took it to a shop to see what they think and they said that i needed to replace a water pump and the quoted me slightly less then 900 dollars. I'll probably try to bleed the coolant first just in case they are trying to rip me off
I've never actually heard of a water pump failure in these cars. It's probably happened, but is surely rare. I would look to the other possibilities I suggested before replacing water pump.
If you plan to replace the coolant, you can confirm water pump working by first removing upper radiator hose at radiator and cranking car w/ full coolant. If water pump is working coolant should come out of the open upper radiator hose end.
good luck
