2011 nav disc on sale for $99, exp 1-31-11

I don't really want to go through the hassle of returning my original, waiting for credit, and then reordering 2 at the $99. I would also need to downgrade to 4.62, since their is a software upgrade with 4.92 and the old disc will not work. Spoke with customer service and they would credit me the difference if I had the customer code from the letters they sent out. Seems that the price is legit for "select" customers that had mailer. Nice to know it does work for others via the link

we just paid $185 and they won't credit the difference. Pretty CS if you ask me. We aren't all that happy with the 2006 RL anyway compared to the old '95 Legend so they have just made an enemy. The dealer is giving us a hard time too. We were told bumper to bumper 12,000 miles and immediately found a problem or two which they said - oh that isn't covered. After some pressure they covered it but the fact is that Acura is not the same company it was 15 years ago. Wait until Consumers sends out their annual how do you like your new car survey.

I gave Acura of Manhattan a well deserved bad review, I got a call from my service advisor maybe 4 days later all upset and telling me that maybe I should go to another dealer.
I included a small rant of how they act like they can do anything because they are the only dealer on the island...and that just proves it.
I should get my DVD tomorrow and you know what I'm gonna do with it

here's the update you all wanted to hear:
I got the disc today and made a copy (no issues here) but...the car gives you a glimpse of the ok button and the map...and then throws an error (final result = fail)
I used Nero 10, TDK DL disc. Will keep trying, 4 discs left

So I ordered a $99 DVD on Thursday. Added shipping and MA sales tax, and still saved $90.
In my mail on Friday is a letter from Acura with a "special" deal on the latest NavTeq DVD: $185 with FREE SHIPPING. A whopping $9.99 savings.......

I called to find out if I could get the disk for the 05 RL at $99. They said the $99 price was a mistake on their website and will be corrected shortly. If this is true, for those of you that got it, good for you.

If you're running 4.6 or later I think you can still use 4.92 to upgrade. It only comes with 1 disc.

i'm on the original 2005 map software, would have loved to upgrade for $99. Site is showing $185. Kind of ridiculous 2006 and up is 99, but 05, which is in the same generation, isn't.

I was hoping the sale would be for Honda discs as well so I can finally upgrade the wife's Pilot. Unfortunately......nope, still $185.
I will leave this thread on the main page (rather than moving to "Electronics" etc.) until January as this is a big savings for folks.

Spoke extensively with the rep at Navteq, the $99 is legit, and was sent to many Acura owners. The link is after a kind soul entered their customer code and posted here, and does work. After trying to reason with the supervisor that a friend was kind enough to forward the link and that I would like either a credit or a second disc for my other Acura, I was flat out told no. So I requested a return authorization # for my purchase, which they gladly gave. I then used the link to order 2 discs at $99 each plus tax and shipping, already shipped should get tomorrow.

rlerman,
Just purchase the map update disc for $99. PM me with your personal information and I will send you the software update disc to update your 05 as I did mine. After you update your RL with my disc, you just insert the new map disc you bought and you should be good to go.
All I ask is that you ship my update disc back to me so I can help others.
Let me know...

I ordered one for my '06 RL and one for my '06 Odyssey. I got fed up yesterday being directed to the former location of a business I was looking for.
I'll be upgrading from 4.31c, which is the original DVD in my RL. I'll report on the results. Please, no requests for torrents or copies.

I have been wanting to upgrade (currently have db version 4.31c and sw version 1.32.00) so I jumped on the $99 offer last night. I used the link on this thread with no problems.
I called Navteq customer service today (talked to Kristen) to confirm that a separate software upgrade disc would be included as I have seen stated in these forums. I was told that it would not be included and that I should talk to my dealer about a software upgrade. The dealer's service department said that a software upgrade should be included with the map disc and they recommend ordering through the MyAcura website.
So, is Kristen just wrong about the software disc? How can the software be upgraded if it is not included with the map update? Any help with this is appreciated.

When you follow the link and put in 2006 RL, and then go to the tab "in the box", it will show just one disc, the data update disc.
It looks like the $185 is for the two discs where the $99 is for the one disc. It sounds like if you have version 4.6x or later, you shouldn't have a problem ordering just the one disc, but if you have an earlier version, you would need both discs.

Software 4.92 is only a straight forward upgrade if you're moving up from 4.6. Otherwise you need a 2nd disc which they do not offer. A member on this forum offered someone to mail it to them for a one time upgrade...you should try that or check for it on ebay as without it you can't upgrade.
Will an update DVD be compatible with my vehicle?
Yes. The latest version DVD will work in any Acura vehicle with white-labeled DVD.
Note: Orange, black, white and turquoise-labeled DVDs are not interchangeable.
Regardless, I either need or want to have the latest software version. I should have taken more time to learn more about this before ordering.
So, is there anyone willing to share their software upgrade disc? I will pay for the shipping both ways. Thanks for considering this.
#73
technically...if your RL is 06 or newer you can call them up and question them on why they didn't send u a 2nd disc. Not everyone runs the latest version and they don't exactly ask what version you're upgrading from.

Thanks 037 and jhal. I currently have a white data disc and the following is in the Navteq FAQs;
