06 RL added to our fleet replacing 07 Camry

Friday we will be picking up the RL w/o tech to replace our POS 2nd replacement Camry.

She loves my TL after driving it for 3+ weeks. The Camry was her's, and the first one blew a tranny at 350 miles. 2nd one at 1800 miles (relacement car), and now Toyota is buying it back. So we couldn't go without a car, so we got the RL now and the Camry should be gone maybe by the end of this week if not definitely next week. Toyota use to be reliable and build well. Now all they are thinking about is getting BIG and build quality has gone way down.

The RL is beautiful. We will have pics later when I can get some online. It is Silver / Ebony. Last one left other than the black and grey RL.

$40,900 was the price of it. TTL was around $43,5k.

Awesome! And a great price, too.

Celestial Silver/Ebony was my other choice....but my dealer didn't have any.

Here are some pics of it at the dealer when we saw it. Will have better pics once we get it tinted.

Sad part is, my TL had no damage when I gave it to her. Now it has a small curbed rim, and the front lip has been badly scrapped on the front edge/sides a little. She pulled into a steep driveway and didn't tell me. I washed the car and found out tonight.

God this pisses me off.

Love your new ride.

I noticed that you have navi on the non-tech package. I'm confused. I thought the non-tech does not include the navi??

All the RL's come with NAVI standard up to 2006. The tech package adds extras. 07 you can get a base without navi.

I'm sure the non-navi version will still have the screen as I doubt Acura will have a new dash layout & center stack for the non-Navi versions. As a result, the screen will be needed for the climate control, audio, & trip computer functions.

Thumbs up Oooohhhhh

This sooo tempts me to go buy an RL -- especially if they are going for ~$41k - that cannot be beat ... well maybe a GS300 (not GS350) would go for that price now but I doubt it.

I am still trying to wait for the refresh to see if they add ventilated seats & hopefully nicer rims. Oh & metal instead of wood like the TL/TSX would be nice, too.

The downside is, despite 1 model year blues, I like to get a car as soon as it comes out so I can enjoy it as long as possible before the new body style debuts.

It appears if you you don't turn the ignition all the way off and then you open the door.

It's telling you that the ignition is in the "accessory" position.

Nice car, Pimp. Congratulations.

Like Bob, though, my VIN is higher than yours (380).

What's your build date?

My VIN is a measly 007765. That make my car vintage!

I wonder, does each model get its own VIN sequence? Are they in order?

Forget it. And BTW, my build date is also 06/06, so I guess mine was just in line behind yours a little. That means you've already beaten me in the first race!

Nice pics.

(With apologies to the TL side.....) Now all you need are some rims.

When you got your tint, you didn't have to ask for moleskin, did you? As you know, this is a HUGE issue on the TL and is the main reason I never got around to tinting my TL.

20% looks great. They didn't need to use moleskin on my RL when they tinted it.

Truthfully I dunno. The RL has a lot of moleskin material around the windows. So it probably already has it there is my guess. I haven't looked.

Bob, see my post above. I didn't and I hopefully don't have too on this car. Per what I read I haven't seeen any issues with tint on the RL yet.
