Transmission rattling

I've had my '13 RDX in the dealership 3 times already at under 6k miles for a rattling noise coming from the transmission along with a lag in gear change. happens when cruising around 35-40mph. the last time I took it in they replaced the torque converter, transmission and starter. a week later it has started making the same noise again. anyone else having similar issues?

Nope...can honestly say that I never heard anything unusual like hat nor have I had any difficult shifting. Hope your problem is nothing serious. Keep us posted.

I haven't experienced that problem either on my RDX, although my worry has always been transmission on Honda manufactured Suv's. My 2003 pilot that I still own have had transmission recalls, and just did a complete repair this past winter. The torque converter failed then caused the slippage on 2 and 3rd clutch which occurs from 30 to 40 mph. Unbeleivable it's now occurring on the RDX's, haven't had issues on mines but I'm curious to know keep us posted pls. What's your manufactured date dessy....

I would bet that this is not actually the transmission rattling but related to the tranmission hunting/lugging, VCM-related issue discussed at length in other threads.

Agree. The computer reset with the parts swap...it takes a bit of time for it to learn your driving patterns for the full effect of the VCM vibration to become apparent, which also explains why we don't hear that nonsense on the test drive.

OP either reset the computer (cables off battery overnight may work?) or try driving in S mode and report if it "fixes" the noise.

I have this problem too with 3K miles on my RDX. It usually happens when accelerate so it up shifts and then immediately let go of the gas pedal and roll. I hear cluck cluck cluck cluck and then its normal again. I thought it may be the transmission trying to downshift but I dont remember hearing that ever in any other car I owned. I will take it in for a checkup sometime this month.
