Sun reflecting off center console

Anybody else distracted by the sun reflecting off the "chrome" around the gear selector? Thinking about a piece of color coordinated leather to trim up and cover the "chrome - bright work". Anybody else have a better suggestion?

My '06 TL aluminum trim bothers me at times with Sun light. Over time that trim gets beat up and I've seen people wrap them in vinyl.
They sell most any color you can think of. Carbon fiber, black gray, etc.

It's easy to wrap and will solve your reflection problems!
Just need to figure out what color goes well with your interior

OP, I know what you mean. I think the best solution here is just wear a pair of sunglasses.

Since the trim runs all the way down the console, the sun reflects under my sun glasses

Yes! That's probably the biggest issue we have with the car. The AZ sun can be really blinding coming off that chrome, sunglasses or no. If you come up with a good solution, keep us posted.

^i suggested vinyl wrapping it.

I think that would be the best solution.
they sell many many different colors and patterns.

the only hard part would be determining what color and pattern goes well with the RDX interior

Yes, all that chrome should be brushed alum instead.

I took a piece of microfiber cloth (tan to match our interior) and cut it to fit the largest part to the back of the shifter. Put a thin line of two sided tape around the edge of the cloth and placed it over the chrome. It helps a lot. Didn't do anything to the thin line of chrome around the whole thing, but blocking the largest area does help.

Yep, went down to the fabric store and bought a $1.70 worth of a flat black vinyl, cut out a template and a couple small squares of Velcro. The vinyl matches the gear shift boot. Was gonna use nagahide, but the naga's are not in season. Even did a thin ring around the cup holders. We'll see how it holds up. The double sided tape might be a better fix as it will lay flatter. Let's see if some summer heat helps it lay flatter.
