Hi I would like to thank you all in advance for reading my post and potentially offering a solution. My 2013 RDX (base) (no power liftgate) recently started displaying a message for the tailgate being open. When I checked, the tailgate was not latched fully, I closed it and the problem persisted and the door would not open. After manually releasing the door and manipulating the lock latch open and closed a few times, it was working intermittently, I replaced the whole latch with an OEM from the acura dealer, the door worked right away and seemed to be fixed. The next two days, the message appears, I stop the car, get out and look and the door is again, partially latched. The door now opens properly when using the button, however won't stay fully closed. Please help!! Again this is a base model with a manual rear tailgate. Thank you! -Brian

I would definitely have it tested just to rule it out. When the voltage gets too low it can cause electrical gremlins and I've seen instances where if affects the power tailgate from working properly.
