slam close the door bouncing back?

Just picked up my 14 RDX today. I noticed that the driver's door would bounce if I don't slam the door hard enough. I have no problem with any other passenger cars I tried to close with. Is it just me or a RDX/SUV thing??

Really bounce open? Or requires a heavier push to close. The car is pretty air tight and when all windows and moon roof are closed you do need to give it a good push, open another window a little and its much easier to close. Pretty typical of a well sealed car.

yes, it bounced open. with other cars i am sure it will just be closed, but this one requires a heavier push for sure. i will try with another window open and see . i think it makes sense with the air pressure but i am just a bit surprised. i am trying to be gentle to it

Your not the only one that has noticed this. I just picked up my 2014 RDX base and was surprised I had to slam the door a bit harder. If its a well sealed reason then its not a problem at all.

That's "good to know". I didn't search the threads but I hope I will get used to it. I am going to post my experience of moving from a 07 TSX to the 14 RDX.

Noticed the same thing when I was driving a '14 TL loaner car.

The passenger door on my 2013 has required a little harder "push" to get it to close . Maybe because of the tight seal, but I haven't noticed it on the driver's door or either rear door. It is not enough of an issue for me to have had the dealer check it.

not normal. All of the RDX loaners I have driven have not exhibited this issue. Neither does my 2002 CL-S and it has 2 heavy doors that close with 1 finger push...

so we have a 2013 RDX and when we got it we thought the same thing. Dang, the driver side door has to be shut harder than normal. we called the dealer since we bought it brand spanking new and they had the car for 3 full weeks. ended up getting a body shop involved and told us it was a design flaw that the door didnt align just right, it was a little off.

They fixed it and all is good now but they did say it was a design flaw with the door. I wouldn't have cared however my wife is freaking anal and made us complain to the dealer. thankfully she did cause who knows what problems this would have caused down the road.

I hope i don't need to get it realigned by a body shop.. this is ridiculous. But if it's flawed i would imagine it wouldn't even close. i do notice that it closes easier if i have the tailgate opened. i will try to test it our more.

It's one thing I noticed early on...if the windows are all closed, it does take a good push/pull to close the door(s) AND leaving the driver window down just a bit results in a disappointing rattle of the window(haven't had such loose windows since our '91 Miata). Leaving the sunroof in the tilt position also works; but all sorts of reasons for not doing that.

The real fun is when DW and I are both exiting the vehicle and give our respective doors the extra heave-ho...and they slam like crazy when the other door is still open!
