Key remote battery

Good day, I have error message regarding with the key remote battery was low for my 2016 RDX. Then I have replaced the battery but the error message appears again after few weeks. I checked the battery and it still have 2.8 volt power . So I think it is not issue of the battery but could have other issues. Does somebody tell me what happen and advise how to fix it ? Thank in advance.

Best regards,

Bobby

It looks like you installed a new bad battery. The voltage of a normally charged battery is from 3.1V to 3.3V, if the voltage is 3V or less it needs to be replaced.
Sometimes the battery may show 3.1V, but when you insert it into the remote control the voltage may drop to 2.8V, this also indicates that replacement is needed.

Hi. Can you recommend which brand name battery is appropriate? Since I bought the Duracell battery from Costco.

Did you buy a new Duracell and it has 2.8V? Try changing it to another Duracell, because Duracell is an excellent brand and these batteries in the remote work great for 5+ years.

thanks for your response. The Duracell I bought from Costco is 3V. So I am afraid of this issue is out of battery.

Maybe. It's cheap and easy to try another brand, just in case. Maybe an EverReady? That's what I use in my remotes.

And do you have the second remote? Is it having the same issue?
