My 2017 RDX has been having intermittent starting issues. The battery is not the issue....it's new and connection is good. When I push the brake pedal and push the start button, the dash lights up and I get a clicking sound and everything goes off. I can do that process multiple times with the same result. Then on the next attempt, it will start. I had one occasion when I was waiting to try the start process and suddenly the car started.

So, I'm thinking possibly solenoid , starter, or start switch issues.. Can anyone offer insight as to what the problem might be?

How much voltage does your current battery have

 

12 volts plus......new battery....good connection. Dash lights up when I push the brake pedal. When I push the start button. I can hear a "click" outside the car and everything goes off!

 

Try tightening your battery cables.

 

Could be the starter relay, tricky to find but easy and cheap to replace.
It's located under the steering wheel on the left side.
